NFT Finance is a web3 vertical consisting of infrastructure and markets for NFT-based financial products and services. These include financial primitives that leverage NFTs on the supply side, as well as protocols, products, and services that enable the financialized management of NFTs.
Existing examples are protocols that allow users to find liquidity for their NFTs. For example marketplaces, aggregators, liquidity pools, NFT-collateralized loans, lending aggregators, renting, fractionalization, auction houses. It also includes tools that help grade and price NFTs (can be algorithmic or manual), wallet watchers, and analytics dashboards. NFT derivatives, indices, options, intelligence, collection management, flash loans, financial NFTs (e.g. Uni v3, Solv vouchers, NFTfi promissory notes).
Over the past 2 years, this infrastructure has emerged alongside the meteoric rise in popularity of NFTs, mainly serving trading and valuation activity for NFTs as collectables (PFPs, art, game assets).
<aside> 💡 We are only scratching the surface of what's possible with NFTs as a new asset class. With this hackathon, we hope to accelerate experimentation here and surface the next generation of protocols that enhance the productivity, utility, and financial use cases of NFTs.
